Last Friday and Saturday were ZOO days, or as my mom says, Visit the Relatives day. :)
Friday: Point Defiance zoo with my old high school friend Jen. We were great friends Freshman-Junior year (like vacation with each others family friends) and seemed to lose track of each other Senior year. I caught up with her on Facebook last year and realized that she is one of those people that you just never stop loving. She is more fun and hysterical than ever.
She and her family lived in Seattle for three years (two of which I was not aware of) and moved after only two visits last year. This year, they came up for a week while her hubby was stationed at Ft. Lewis doing training. We had the pleasure of visiting for a day at Tacoma's great zoo.
Playing with the big kids (7 and 5)
Almost touching a starfish
Still just a little smaller than the rest
Enjoying a relaxing break with the local foliage
Saturday was Woodland Park Zoo with just the three of us. We had a blast and Ava spent an amazing amount of time studying monkeys and turtles. Love watching her see new animals and interact with them. So much fun
Best seat in the house
Loving herself some penguins
Spent quite a bit of time talking to this guy
Giving kisses to bronze monkeys
Woodland park zoo has an amazing kids area. Ava had too much fun on the slides
I love taking her on these little adventures. It is getting even more fun now since she talks about it afterwards.
