For some reason, when Ava decides to get sick, she gets slaughtered sick. No silly sniffles for my daughter. Her first round of antibiotics for anything was in January, when she contracted Periorbital Celluitis (where a sinus infection leaks into your eye socket and can go to your brain). She had to have a ct scan, a spinal tap and a very scary middle of the night ER visit.
Well, her fun trend continued this week. Ava started having sniffles on Tuesday, was super aggressive all day Wednesday, Wednesday night she was up all night screaming and by Thursday morning she was having trouble breathing.
We took her right to the doctor where she was placed on a breathing machine and was diagnosed with an RSV related illness called Bronchiolitis. She has been having to take breathing treatments every four hours since Thursday. They make her very jittery and aggressive, but her cough is getting better.
The nurse told me the breathing treatments would be a "Two person job" since most kids freak on them. Not our Peanut! She asks for the treatments now by walking over to the Nebulizer, signing please and putting her hand on her face like a mask!
I would have never believed how traumatic it is for the parents when the kids get sick. They rebound, we suffer with guilt, anxiety and sleep deprivation
I still wouldn't trade my life with anyone. :)

Sick or not, hooked up to a crazy nebulizer or not, she's still super cute!!! Poor thing. What a Super Trooper!!! I think she definitely deserves some sort of reward for being so awesome with her treatments, don't ya think??
Yep, Stacey, she deserves a ton of rewards. We actually bought her a few toys and PLAY-DOH (read my love letter to Playdoh above) and we have been having extra cuddles, storytimes and many many new fun fingerplay and songs while she is on the nebulizer. Almost over! YAY
Thanks for the post
